This Winter has been so cold, the coldest since 1962 when I was born. I quite often have not felt like going out training, although it hasn't been too bad once I have got out. A number of races have been cancelled due to the weather such as the Folksworth 15 in January which I had a place in and the Oakley 20, which I ran last year. Last year it was on April 1st and it was so warm that we were sat outside at my sister's house having a barbecue afterwards ! What a change from this year. I haven't been training for a marathon this year, it has been tough this year if you are. It'll probably be a scorcher on the day of the VLM this year, as in other years. Here is a good post if you are running your first marathon this year :

I ran at Wimpole parkrun last Saturday, not quite as fast as I would have liked. Garmin connect here :

It's a great course with a massive hill (for Cambridgeshire) and slower than Cambridge parkrun. The mad person that I am I decided to some hill repeats there yesterday. It was very windy and quite cold. There is one bit of the hill where you almost feel like walking. I'm not sure it will ever get any easier.
Here's a picture of Wimpole house, where I jogged to after the last hill :
